After 3 years in the sport I am finally in a place where I have let my mind relax and focus on training. This is my 6th or 7th week here at the Olympic Training Center, and, I am finding my place. What I mean by that is I am simplifying my life. So many coaches I have came across have conveyed this message to me…Glenn Pendlay, John Broz, David Spitz, Steve Gough, Mike Karchut, Greg Kustra, etc. I mean, really anyone who has ever given me advice has told me I needed to simplify my mind & just focus on training. I feel like it has finally happened & I am starting to see some good progress.
Last week I did 145/177 (and cleaned 180) weighing 91.5 at a little mock meet we had at the center. I felt pretty good about that. It is the most I Have both snatched (Without straps) and CJ’d at this low of a bodyweight. Soon I will be training in the 80’s. It’s amazing what the right mindset & consistent training can do. I do have someone specifically to thank for calming my mind down haha but I’ll save that for another blog!
Happy hump day everyone!
